TORTUGA . Ancient legends say that it is an island where a great treasure of ancient pirates is hidden but no one has ever been able to find it. Many ships have sailed its waters to find it but they have never been heard from again. They say it is full of terrible monsters and dangerous spells.
An old sea dog, on his deathbed, gives a treasure map to Genaro Salado, a young sailor. Deceived by Captain Teodoro, he is forced to sail to the island in search of the treasure to pay for his freedom. In this long and risky adventure, Genaro Salado will have the help of Mojapán, the brigantine's cook, to escape the terrible traps, tricks and deceptions that Captain Teodoro and Calabobo, his clever boatswain, have prepared for them on this long and exhausting voyage.
