‘Little Red Riding Hood. What was never told’.’ by the company Teloncillo Teatro has been the winner of the sixth edition of the Competition Baroque Children, which has been held over the last few days as part of the 40th Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival.
The jury's decision was based on the following criteria “the humour, the kindness, the poetry and the rereading of the story”.” that performs this production. In addition, they have also highlighted the quality of the text, the interpretation and the agility of the scene that the Castilian-Leonese company achieves with this adaptation, which allows it to reach “a wide range of audiences”, providing a different reading for children and adults.
¿Little Red Riding HoodAgain? How many times has this story been told? Many, thousands, millions. As many times as mothers and fathers have told it to their children. It began as a folk tale passed by word of mouth; Charles Perrault made it into a book. The Brothers Grimm saved Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood by introducing the woodcutter.
And many films were made.
Is it worth retelling? We think so. There is something about this tale that is passed down from generation to generation. And how will we tell it? In our own way, playing with the characters, transforming the story into a comedy of dislocated entanglements. Nothing is as it should be. And no one knows how this game will end...
