Argument

“Carnaval de la vida” is a musical theatre show for the whole family that celebrates the wonder of life. The Italian-Dutch company combines live music, gestural theatre, humour, theatre of objects and, as in all its proposals, invites the audience to participate actively. The artists play with clothes like two children who open their parents' wardrobe to dress up. Because every stage of life can be a carnival, and the simple fact of having been born deserves to be celebrated.

The company Canti Vaganti was founded in 2011 by the Dutch Kateleinevan der Maas and the Italian Bruno Gullo, both based in Madrid. Canti Vaganti creates joyful and profound shows, using diverse artistic disciplines, and always treating family audiences with great respect and affection. He conceives theatre as a place of celebration, growth and encounter. In all his plays he invites the audience to participate in a fun and energetic way.

“Pinocchio, una historia delirante”, directed by David Ottone and José Luis Sixto and with voice-over by Alberto San Juan, is a daring version of the famous classic. The musical “Piccolino en la ciudad” is born after the success of “Piccolino, un cine-concerto”, with more than two hundred performances.

Both the title of their first production, “Siempre en camino”, and their name (Canti Vaganti means Wandering Songs) reflect the spirit of the company. These modern minstrels are constantly on the move, as are their creations, which have been performed in Spain, Holland, Italy, Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, Belgium, Morocco and Switzerland.
